Horas Engineering Ltd offer highways advice and design services in support of the following:
- Section 38 Agreements – Adoption of new highways – New estate road for residential, industrial or general purpose traffic for roads to become public highway under Section 38 of Highways Act 1980.
- Section 184 Agreements – Vehicle Crossovers – A developer will need to enter an agreement for the construction of, or alterations to, any site access or accesses. It relates specifically to accesses where the work being done is all that is required to enable the development, or if the work needs to be done before the main works can proceed under a Section 38 agreement (adoption of highways) or a section 278 Agreement (allowing a developer to carry out works to a public highway).
- Section 278 Agreements – Permanent alterations or improvements to a public highway – To allow a developer to carry out works to the public highway. This is generally necessary where planning permission has been granted for a development that requires improvements to, or changes to, public highways.
We are able to assist in the preliminary and detailed design of the roads including preparation of plans and specifications and liaison with the Highways Authority to obtain the Section 38, Section 184 and Section 278 Agreements (including Mini Section 278 Agreements where applicable).
